Fantasy Blog Hop

Are you a fantasy writer or reader? Check out this blog hop hosted by Tessa Conte of Tessa's Blurb!

There will be an opportunity to sign up and join the meeting and greeting when the weekly topic matches your area of expertise or interest.

Here is a mocked up "cover" of my fantasy WIP, Briars and Black Hellebore, courtesy of Microsoft Office fonts and clip art. Hehe.

So what genre is your WIP? Are you a fellow fantasy writer? If you happen to be working on a fairy tale- or folklore-based narrative or anything set in medieval times before the Crusades, please introduce yourself so I'll be sure not to miss your blog!

  1. I'm a fantasy YA writer and I love it!!! I have four novels in the works and I'm working on revising my personal favofite (because it's fully written) and in the revisions stage!!!

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for joining the blog fest! I'm happy to have you!

  2. Thanks for joining and posting! I'm glad people are liking the idea...and REALLY REALLY curious to see how many fantasy writers we can get together by next tuesday!

Love the new title for your WIP, btw, and great cover, too!

  3. Hello! I'm hopping by on Tessa's blog-hop. I write primarily Urban Fantasy, with themes ranging from angels/demons, vamps/weres, to fairies and modernized myths. Really, I've got ideas for everything and sometimes I lament that I will never get to them all...

Anyways, happy writing and blog hopping! Looking forward to being a follower. :)

    Scribbler to Scribe

  4. *waves* HI!! I started writing Fantasy novels about a year ago and have written 2 Ghost and 3 Vampire (4th in works).

    Happy bloghopping!

  5. What a fantastic way to meet new writers!!! I'll have to check the ones out that I don't know. And your cover is awesome! Is that the title you're going with for sure, then?

  6. I'm a long-time follower of yours, Genie. And my genre is science fantasy. I'm currently writing a ghostly murder mystery serial on my blog where I am trapped in my own fictional world, wanted for the murder of the ghost of Ernest Hemingway. And my companions are the ghosts of Marlene Dietrich and Mark Twain (what a pair, right?) Roland

  7. Hi everybody!! I am loving some of the new blogs I've found already. Still working on getting through the list when no one's looking at work. ;)

Michelle: That's just a new, shorter and more fun working title. It may change later, especially if I finish and enter the publication process. (Fingers crossed, when they aren't typing.)

  8. Good luck with your book! Looking good! Loved your short story "Dear Hideo" by the way!

  9. I don't write genres, but my stories have quite a bit of what would be considered paranormal, "fantastic" writing. To me it's real life. I'm a witch. You write what you know or at least start with that.

  10. Fascinating cover. Very impressive.

I don't really consider myself a fantasy writer, though my current WIP includes a fully fictional world and magic, so many it's a little fantastical.

  11. Hi - just hopping through!

I write paranormal fantasy, both YA and adult. But I also love fantasy with magic and plotting and evil sorcerers...

Nice job w/ both the bad boy and bad girl blogfest entries!

35 Great Things About Turning 35

The prime of life starts at 35! It's the best-kept secret from younger people, but your 35th birthday is a major cause for celebration. For mine, I have made my own listicle of 35 reasons why experts agree that 35 is the best age to be:
You get to say, "I'm 35." The number 35 carries so much more gravitas than 30, but you're only a few years older. At 34, I've started fudging my age--by adding a year. People automatically take me seriously, and if they don't, at least they tell me I look young for my age. (Eye roll, hair toss, "whatever.")  35-year-olds DGAF. Inner chill reaches new heights at 35. Despite its #2 status on this list, it's the #1 response I hear about what's best about hitting 35. My gorgeous friend Nerlie was beautiful and resilient and wise beyond her years in high school, but now, at age 35, she gets to fully enjoy being herself on her own terms. She writes,  "I've survived so much that I don't waste time o…

A Bad Romance Starring Till Lindemann, Sophia Thomalla, Gavin Rossdale, Simone Thomalla, Sven Martinek, Andy LaPlegua, and Leila Lowfire

November 2018 Update: Sophia is settled in with Gavin now, I guess, and Till is spending time with 36-year-old (hell yeah, thank you, sir) Ukrainian singer Svetlana Loboda. He is either her latest babydaddy or doing her the favor of bearding as such (not that he's great with beards, but we don't mind--we know how much he loves pregnant and lactating ladies) to help her keep some distance from her crazy ex who cuts his wrists over her. The juice continues...

To misquote Gaga, "I don't speak German, but I can look at foreign tabloids and guess what's going on if you like."

I guess it would be more professional and ladylike for me to be above this sordid celebrity gossip, but I'm not. I'm so not.

So let's see if I've got this straight. From what I gather...

Metalgod Till Lindemann, 54, and model Sophia Thomalla, 27 (upper left) recently exited a five-year, on-off, opennish relationship, which began when Sophia's actress mother Simone (upper r…

Ich Liebe Rammstein: Richard

Richard Z. Kruspe
Richard Zven Kruspe is Rammstein's founding father, lead guitarist, and natural frontman.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE, 2018***: Richard has immortalized his lifelong bromance with Till in a tender duet about their friendship, "Let's Go" by Richard's side band Emigrate. Till sings words such as "Zwei Herzen in mir schlagen" with sincerity and I think I am now deceased.

He's gregarious, well-spoken in both German and English, a professional showman, and an enthusiastic promoter for the band. In German, his name is pronounced "REE-kard," and in Germanglish, "Reeshard," or "Reesh" for short. Richard is sexy, and he knows it. To many Rammstein fans, he is the cuuuuuuute one. His Facebook page would have you believe it.

Legend has it that Richard has a lovechild with lead singer Till Lindeman. The myth is based in complicated facts and figures, including one unconventional love triangle. Circa 1990, Richard and Till …
